Lubricant for processing enamelled copper wire
By using different solvents with varying evaporation rates, the drying process can be optimally controlled to meet specific requirements, which further increases efficiency in the production process. The fast-drying solvents are also characterised by an extremely low odour. The fully dissolved wax content reliably prevents the dosing felts from sticking together, thereby contributing to the longevity of the production equipment.
The lubricant is applied to the wire varnish immediately after the oven. Before the oven, the copper wire is drawn to the desired thickness and then coated with wire varnish. The lubricant plays a crucial role here: It ensures safe and efficient winding of the wire, facilitates the winding process, enables high winding speeds and promotes smooth unwinding. Without the use of lubricants, coils could have dimensions outside the tolerance range and may not fit into the intended housings.
CVH LUBRICANT lubricants are ideal for enamelled copper wires with a diameter of 0.01 to 0.5 mm. The product range includes both fast-drying and medium-speed-drying lubricants.
The lubricant can be applied using various systems: felts, rollers, sponges, spray systems or capillary systems. When applying with felts, care must be taken to ensure that the felt is kept moist at all times. An optimal dosage achieves a wax application of approximately 5 mg/m² on the wire enamel. If the lubricity is insufficient despite maximum dosage, a lubricant with a higher wax concentration is required. Our lubricants are available in wax concentrations ranging from 0.15% to 3%.
For optimum winding and sliding behaviour, the coefficient of friction between the enamel and the metal should be below 0.13. Without the use of lubricants, the coefficients of friction for an enamelled wire typically range between 0.15 and 0.35.

Storage instructions
If the product is stored below the specified minimum storage temperature, it may become cloudy. In this case, store the product at the recommended minimum storage temperature and then homogenise it by stirring or pumping it through. Do not use the product when it is cloudy, as this may cause blockages in dosing equipment.
