Cleaning products for the dairy industry

The dairy industry adheres to the highest hygiene standards. Sensitive measures and safety systems are specifically designed, verified and validated in accordance with the requirements of HACCP, BRC, IFS and other certification standards. To ensure high product quality, our master dairy technicians and specialists develop bespoke hygiene concepts for our customers.

ASiRAL: Professional hygiene management and bespoke solutions for the dairy industry

Cleaning processes are designed to be efficient from both an environmental and economic perspective. Food safety and consumer protection, as well as sustainability and environmental protection, are central to our choice of raw materials and drive the success of our operations.

Process water, such as vapours or RO water, is used in the dairy as cooling water, amongst other things. To meet the microbiological requirements in accordance with the 42nd BImSchV, appropriate treatment is necessary. The ASiRAL Pure XF chlorine dioxide system, in combination with our AquaControl products, guarantees high efficacy against Legionella and ensures optimal performance of ice and cooling water systems.

Intensive support for our customers from our trained specialist advisors and application engineers ensures the optimal use of our products. Regular training for your staff ensures safe handling of our product portfolio. Cleaning validations and cleaning checks confirm our shared success.

CVH: sodium hydroxide and additive solutions for alkaline CIP cleaning

50% sodium hydroxide solution

Alkaline cleaning with sodium hydroxide is essential in milk and beverage processing plants. The use of additional additives is strongly recommended.

Milk processing (heat exchangers, heaters, separators, pipework, cream heaters, UHT plants):

  • Application concentration: 1.5–2%
  • Temperature: 70–90 °C
  • Contact time: 10–30 min

Rinse thoroughly with drinking water after cleaning.

Product specifications:

  • Conductivity (20 °C): 1% solution: 23 mS/cm, 2% solution: 46 mS/cm
  • Temperature coefficient of conductivity (alpha): 1.92 % / °C
  • Recommended storage temperature: 12–40 °C

ASIRAL KL extra CR additive solution

A ready-to-use, highly alkaline cleaning agent with a low chlorate content (<10 ppm). ASIRAL KL extra CR combines the cleaning power of sodium hydroxide with special surfactants and dispersants. Surfactants effectively wet organic contaminants, thereby enhancing the cleaning process. Dispersants increase the dirt-carrying capacity compared to conventional sodium hydroxide, thus improving the performance of alkaline cleaning. Sodium hydroxide with a low chlorate content is specifically used in its manufacture.

Applications: Cleaning of tanks, heaters, separators, centrifuges, containers, etc.; suitable for CIP

  • Application concentration: 0.5–3.0% (manually or with a dosing pump; also conductivity-controlled)
  • Operating temperature: Cold to 95 °C
  • Density (concentrated): 1.50 g/ml
  • pH value (1 %): >12

Foaming behaviour: Non-foaming; contains defoamer. Optimal defoaming at T > 40 °C
Concentration determination: Titration of total alkalinity

Temperature stability of the concentrate: stable from +10 to +50 °C. Product is slightly opalescent. After prolonged periods of inactivity (>5 days), surfactant-induced cloudiness may occur on the surface of the concentrate.

Corrosion behaviour: In accordance with the recommended use, non-corrosive to stainless steel and plastics (PVC, PP, PE, soft plastics). Aluminium and non-ferrous metals are attacked. Due to the wide variety of different materials, a compatibility test is recommended prior to use.
